Over the last few years and on my decks particularly, I have worked with Lance Violette during this process. It generally runs without a hitch. Lance tends to interpret my ideas spot on, unlike most people who see them. This graphic was no different. I simply wanted to try and tell the story of the industry destroying the potential of a pro and corrupting his mind, in a comic format and as with all my graphics I incorporate some hints of past graphic’s and of course try to make fun of myself. So above you will see, literally round 1 from my description of what I wanted to Lance on a phone call and a descriptive e-mail.
Some more ideas generate from round 1 comps and the art and the story starts to take shape.
Then we ad color and start to finalize the details. Sidewall colors, track colors, inlays, etc… Its a great process really, especially if you get to work with people that can feel what your saying and create your vision through their art work. Thats 2010 baby!
