So filming a snowboard video is way different than it used to be when we would “just” land the trick. Now after the trick is landed, it’s a 100% acting show, for the “cut away”. This process often takes longer than it did to actually get the trick. Here is a video grab of a “cut away”. I wont give it away, but basically there isn’t 1 thing to this shot that is “natural” full Hollyweird, son!

Me and Brad made a bet while in Alaska that whoever ‘obtains’ the largest number of Pirate Flags over the summer, gets to tie the hands of the looser behind his back and force him to ‘walk the plank’ into Lake Tahoe mid winter next season. Apparently the deal with Pirate Flags is that if one is flying it is meant to be stolen. So we thought we should honor ‘the code’.
Girl Scout cookies!!!! For real… these are the best cookies in the world!! My wife hooked up 3 boxes for me 2 weeks ago from our Neighbor Girl Scout… Gone in the day. Then I was being a Butthead the otherday, so she swooped 3 more boxes from the corner to cheer me up, yeah… She is amazing!!!! Those boxes… GONE! At 150 calories a serving which is 2 cookies, 15 cookies a box, 2,250 calories a box x 6… Well put it this way. I think the Girl Scouts figured out the best option for population control without people freaking out.

So before the Steezy Riders happened it was ‘The Morning Out Of Austin’. Man that gig was a good one, the plans were super loose and every mile was a total huck job, that is in fact one of the best formulas for a great time and successful trip. Plans mess everything up, simply because they offer only something to miss, or go wrong, and a perception of something that just might not be that way.

I have been shreddin’ like I had just takin’ my first run ever, only allot worse than that… Allot! Jussi on the other hand, is not sucking, dude lands everything he tries and everything seems easy and effortless to him, Jussi… he’s good!
I like snowboards. The design process is cool as crap (shape, camber, sidecut, flex, graphics, material, etc..). I hope if you ever get the chance that you take it. Building them is cool, riding them is cool once the latter steps are takin’, and just hangin’ out with the board, strappin’ in, sticker jobs, de-tunes, tune up’s, and so on and so on. Snowboarding rips man!!

JP, Mitch, Myself and film crew had a sick camp out on our trip across the west coast last year. With Guns, canned beans from the gas station, cardboard for our beds and a fire that Mitch woke up to stoke every hour. We were stoked as could be and had an ill night in the 32 degree temps.
There is this uber creative pro snowboarder with a retardedly great styled FS 360 that goes buy the name VeeLay. Way back when in Robot Food’s film LAME, he busted out this board whip thingy on a mini bump. Then last year in MDP’s Double Decade he dropped a couple hammers with the same board whip thingy. Creator, Inventor, style-ator and all round anti Euro Scando that lives in Portland busted out with something fresh that nobody could step to.
